Assessing Business Cyber Risk – Simulation for Business Leaders

Monday, October 8
8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

What is it? This simulation is a training and evaluation tool which allows participants to navigate a simulated, real-world, cyber-focused scenario. The game is a team effort to transform technical cyber information into strategic business recommendations and actionable intelligence for senior decision makers. The focus will not be on technical or forensic analysis of malware or networks. Participants will be called upon to understand and interpret malicious cyber tactics, techniques, and procedures; integrate them with larger political, economic, and social factors; and determine the overall strategic picture. Participants will employ individual intelligence tradecraft skills such as critical thinking as well as group skills such as information handling, communication protocols, analytical standards, and group decision making.

Who is this for? The session can benefit any individual or organization that wishes to improve their ability to understand, synthesize, and disseminate the far-reaching implications of malicious cyber attacks on their organization. This exercise is not just for cybersecurity professionals. This simulation directly impacts all aspects of operations and strategy. This exercise is for business leaders, managers, and/or cyber professionals.

Who can participate? There are no specific cyber skills or experience requirements. The game accepts a variety of skills sets, levels of experience, and a wide selection of roles and functions. Prospective roles include team leaders, senior analysts, action officers, etc. Players will also be able to join different teams with unique functions, such as a Security Operations Center or a Cyber Intelligence Cell.

What will I get out of it? The game will be proctored by experienced cyber and intelligence analysts who will mentor and provide feedback during the course of the scenario. An After Action Review, which includes both qualitative and quantitative evaluation metrics will be conducted at the conclusion of the game. The variety of game playing roles and functions offer participants a chance to try something new or reinforce existing skill sets in a fun, simulated environment.

What is required? Participants will need to bring their own laptops and have the ability to log into the internet. The simulation is based on an online platform that is accessible through an internet browser – no other software is required. Aside from these basic technical requirements, a desire to learn, a willingness to work with a group, and a can-do attitude is all that is required to have a rich and rewarding experience.

Price: $100 per person
